I’ve known Emily since she was in kindergarten or first grade, so worlds collided when she requested I capture moments of her senior year I was thrilled. I got more excited when she chose the graffiti wall and St. Louis Arch for the location.
I met up with Emily and her dad on a beautiful Thursday evening on the riverfront. The lighting was perfect and the breeze provided the perfect temperature. I often recommend a senior to bring a couple of props to their session and she delivered. She brought her motorcycle!
We began our time in front of the graffiti wall with the arch in the background. Her dad, who often takes his bikes down to the wall for photos, scouted out some amazing locations for the session. Emily’s personality radiated through the session as we worked through different poses and angles. I especially loved the candid moments of Emily smiling at her dad as he snapped some phone photos of her.
We next moved to the the area between the arch and riverfront. We opted to utilize Emily’s cap and gown at this location and even got her dad to join in the fun on some of the shots. My favorite shot is Emily sitting on her bike with the arch in the background.
Emily, now a graduate of Seckman High School, has grown a lot since I first met her. It’s been such a pleasure to get to know her throughout her school years and it was super special to capture her senior session. I can’t wait to see where she goes in this world!
