Byron Pulsifer once said, “Siblings-the definition that comprises love, strife, competition and forever friends.” My kids are almost two years apart and I often do shared birthday parties so when it comes to document their birthday, I do both at the same time. Last year it was an Easter theme since Ezra’s birthday was on that holiday complete with fluffy bunnies. This year when I heard of a friend having a calf, I couldn’t resist asking if we could come out and do a photoshoot. She happily agreed!
Now, mind you, last year’s bunny session didn’t go very well. Both kids didn’t enjoy the bunnies…and they’re afraid of dogs thanks to super hyper puppies my siblings own. Hey a baby cow, it’ll be fun! I was amazed how quickly my kids warmed up not only to the calf but the horse, donkeys, pig, chickens! I was thrilled!
While it was a little dreary and chilly, once the kids began feeding and playing around, they forgot about those things and had a blast posing and feeding the animals. As I captured photos of them, I was a little teary-eyed realizing how much they have grown this past year, all the milestones achieved and the moments we enjoyed together.
