Caroline Norton once asked, “Of all the joys that lighten suffering earth, what joy is welcomed like a newborn child?” Lloyd and Ashley were thrilled with the news they were expecting their second child and the excitement grew as they learned that their daughter Lynnlee would have a sister.
The Byrd family welcomed Cassidy Joy into the world on the last day of February to everyone’s delight. A few days after returning from the hospital, moments were captured as the family of four. Unknown to year-old Lynnlee, her sister will become a true friend in the years ahead of them. Ashley radiated beauty and motherly love toward her daughters and Lloyd had such pride as he wore his girl dad shirt with his girls beside him. Cassidy had her moment in the spotlight for some portraits and details including getting some images of her full head of dark hair.
I am always a fan of newborn sessions and there’s something meaningful to be invited into a home to document some of the first moments of a person’s life. I fondly thought back to nearly a year ago to when I captured moments of the Byrd Family of Three as they welcomed Lynnlee home. It was neat to document this new addition to the family! I absolutely love capturing the sweet moments of the family together but also those precious portraits that the family will look back on years later as Miss Cassidy grows. Kartini Diapari-Oengider once said, “Babies are like little suns that, in a magical way, bring warmth, happiness and light into our lives.” For the Byrd family, another sun has been welcomed to their home.
