Fall is my favorite time of year, especially in terms of capturing moments outside – The autumn leaves paint a gem-colored masterpiece; the weather is cooler bringing out boots, cardigans and outfits in jeweled tones and there’s something in the air that seems magical. Unlike last year’s fall minis, this year the weather was more summer than fall but that didn’t stop some great fall moments from being captured.
Two years have flown by since I captured moments for the Lenz family. I met Britain through a realtor event we both sponsored and had a great time during our first session with her and her two kids, Ryan and Max. This time, they brought the newest member of the family, an adorable rescue dog named Bingo. Clearly both kids are smitten with their dog and love showing him love.
Last fall, I got captured Brad and Ashley as they prepared to welcome their son into the world and this year, I got to capture moments of this family of three! Bennett didn’t allow his car ride slumber to make him moody and was all smiles. Brad, who doesn’t like getting photos taken, was delighted to hear he wasn’t going to be a part of every photo. Ashley was thrilled to be getting some updated photos of her family.
While the weather didn’t reveal it was fall, some of the hues of fall could be seen and it was fun capturing moments of both of these families. One of my favorite things about taking photos of families, especially when they’re repeat clients, is to see the changes in the family. The greatest part of family pictures is capturing the interaction between the family members and to see the genuine love between them.
