Lakeside with the Graber Family | St. Louis Family Photographer

Three years had passed since I captured moments of the Graber family (read that blog here) when they were a family of three. Now, a beautiful family of four, I met them on a beautiful Saturday morning by the lake at Bee Tree Park. We made our way on a short stroll to a cove that I knew would bring beautiful, soft light to the images. While we walked, I caught up with Jon and Stephanie and had some fun moments with the boys. (I always love taking a little time to allow kids to warm up to me before the session officially starts and the walk did the job!)

Once at the location, I captured moments of the entire family, then broke to do some mommy-and-me and daddy-and-me shots. The oldest’s frowns quickly turned to smiles and laughter and did an amazing job in front of the camera. He especially liked when I showed him the image on the back of my camera. The brothers did some adorable lakeside shots and then included mom and dad. Never wanting to miss an opportune moment, I made sure to capture some of just Jon and Stephanie while the boys had seemed to be done with photos. Some of my favorite shots came from this time as they danced by the lake.

Connecting with a family gives me so much joy. Being able to talk about Lightning McQueen to making silly noises to get smiles and laughter, gives me so much life. I hope the time spent around the lake will be fond memories for the Graber family and will bring smiles to their faces when they look back on the images.
