Fall Sessions at Claire Gempp | St. Louis Family Photographer

Returning to Claire Gempp after a year away was like returning to a well-loved vacation spot. I was soon reminded of how amazing and beautiful this conservation area is!

Whenever an amazing client passes my name onto a friend, I have a hunch I’ll have a fun time with them too. The Prasuhn family were not an exception to this! I quickly got to know the family as we made our way to the area where I was holding the sessions. It was great fun capturing each child’s personality and I loved capturing the family all together in hugs and smiles. They were excited to get family photos and I was happy to capture this adorable family.

It had been a few years since I captured moments of the Bone family and I was elated to update their family photos for them. Knowing clients personally makes sessions fun as we can catch up on life and joke around while I capture moments. I learned both kids are quite ticklish which I used to my advantage when I instructed the parents to tickle their kids. The laughter and smiles were contagious!

My last two sessions were a combo of sorts. Amelia contacted me wanting to get photos for her mother-in-law plus have a family session. We began with the extended family, capturing a variety of moments including grandparents with grandkids, uncle with kids and the brothers with their mom. I especially loved how easily this family laughed and joked together, capturing their laughter as they interacted with one another.

Once the larger group was complete, I captured moments of just Amelia, Jim and their kids. I especially loved the sweet interactions between the parents with their daughter. Seeing them interact, talking and giving hugs and kisses was just the sweetest thing!

Reflections

Claire Gempp was introduced to me by a friend and I love sharing this space with clients. There’s always breathtaking moments during a session and capturing them behind the beauty of Claire Gempp just made them more special. I had an amazing time with amazing families that I was smiling all the way home.
