Rory is full of spunk, smiles and cuteness! Celebrating her first birthday the next day, I captured a “cake smash” and some birthday photos for this adorable girl at Blackburn Park in Webster Groves. I met mom, Alex, and Rory and after introductions were made I had to ask, “Did you name Rory after Gilmore Girls?” With the affirmative answer, I knew we had hit it off instantly!
Sometimes it takes a few minutes for a child to warm up, especially if they don’t know me, which is normal, but having mom close by Rory was all smiles! She was eager to explore the area and even more engaged with her adorable cake mom bought from Sweet Tooth Cakery. Unfortunately for Rory, mom wanted the cake to be shared with her three older brothers, so we were careful not to let her smash it. Following our time with the cake, we moved onto some sitter images which quickly became standing photos, which perfectly showed off her adorable outfit mom had made by Etsy shop, SweetAndStitched.
It was a beautiful morning and location for this session. Although the grass was a little long having had some rainy days, I thought it gave the session a more woodland feel. Rory was the star of the session and rightly so! She laughed, clapped, smiled and made mom ecstatic with the images captured. Happy birthday Rory!
