I was quite anxious gearing up for this set of fall sessions due to the potential of it being a rain out. While it did rain early that morning, it just dampened the ground, not the smiles that were abundant on a clear yet cold Saturday morning at Simpson Park.
My first session was with the Darby family. I was excited to capture moments of this stunning couple, Jim and Amelia, and their adorable kids for another family session. The kids did a phenomenal job staying engaged, smiling and taking direction. I loved capturing the moments of baby sister on top of her brothers. Some of the cutest shots to date!
Next was the Gillick family. I met Nikki when I did photography for Grey House Goods and she modeled the clothing. It was nice to see her again and meet her husband Jason and her enchanting son, who quickly stole the show with his perfect smile.
The next two sessions were for the Taylor and White families. Karen had won a session during my Five year birthday giveaway and her daughter Meghan soon booked the session following for her own family. Karen gathered all her grandkids for some great shots and then we took some of the entire family together. Brian, Meghan and their three sons were up next which included me making sure the two older sons weren’t hiding from the camera. Their younger brother had no trouble participating in the session and had an abundance of goofy faces to entertain.
My first afternoon session was with the Olson family who are related to the Brown family. We quickly realized that we not only attended the same university but were there at the same time! The Olson kids were energized and eager to get their photos taken. It was a great time capturing moments of them especially with the hugs and snuggles with their parents.
It was great seeing the Catterlin crew again for updated photos. Melissa’s brother and niece came along to make it even more special. I enjoyed seeing the siblings interact with one another and give each other trouble.
Last but not least was the Hanning kids. This group of two older sisters and two little boys makes a perfect combination. It was great fun getting the boys to smile and when they finally warmed up, they couldn’t stop smiling!
While I was anxious before the sessions, I was thrilled with the results! Each family did extraordinary and I believe I captured them perfectly. When I left the park, I was elated and eager to go home and start the editing, not tired at all!
