Music is something I greatly enjoy, especially while working. Before fall begins and so does my busiest time of year, I thought I would share some of tunes that I have on repeat in this edition of “A Photographer’s Playlist.”
Whom am I – NEEDTOBREATHE
It’s been four years since one of my favorite bands released an album. Friday, NEEDTOBREATH released “Out of Body” and in its anticipated release, I’ve been listening to single “Who Am I” quite a bit. While I’ll probably be soon singing and jamming to the whole list of new songs, this one is the most familiar.
Exile – Taylor Swift (featuring Bon Iver)
This new album of Swift’s (Folklore) was created while in isolation during COVID-19 and is quite different than the pop sound we’re used from her, which drew me to it. I love the piano heavy songs thought I’m not a fan of the language in some of the songs. This duet featuring Bon Iver really got into my head and I had on repeat for a while.
Crazy in Love – Drew Holcomb
Drew Holcomb didn’t sit still while in quarantine during COVID-19 but rather released covers of many popular songs, many featuring wife and singer Ellie Holcomb. (A collection called Kitchen Covers, The Collection is now available.) While the original from Beyoncé is energizing and upbeat, this mellower version gives me a huge smile. I was eager to hear this song performed by Holcomb and he didn’t disappoint.
Famous For (I Believe) – Tauren Wells (featuring Jenn Johnson & Christine D’Clario)
While I initially bought the newest album, Citizen of Heaven, for my daughter, I’m absolutely thrilled I did. I absolutely love this song reminding me that God is big and in control of everything, no matter what happens.
Home – Drew Holcomb (featuring Ellie Holcomb)
Again from Kitchen Covers, this tune is much closer to the Holcomb’s sound but is still very delightful to hear this husband and wife to cover.
