Turning one is a huge milestone not only for the child, but for the parents. From late night cries to early morning coos, the year quickly flies by, reminding us the importance of savoring every moment. In a blink of an eye a newborn is learning to crawl, talk and soon will walk.
I had the privilege to document Levi’s first birthday party, a rodeo themed event that was full of celebration. Ashley planned a perfect event complete with paper, attendees were requested to turn into heartfelt letters for Levi to open when he turns 18. She also brought fun photo props and toys the kids, young and old, enjoyed playing with. Lloyd was the smoke master providing amazing smoked meats for the lunch along with amazing sides many family members brought. Adorable cupcakes ended the meal, with Levi not so sure about the sweet treat. Legendary cowboy Lane Frost once said, “True cowboys are the ones who aren’t afraid to get dirty.” Levi made sure that he was in fact a true cowboy with frosting on his face.
Capturing moments like birthday parties are always great fun! Capturing the details, candid moments and festivities provide a great overview of the party. Event photography gives the parents and others the opportunity to be completely present, and not have them tied to their phones, trying to capture every moment. It’s always a delight to capture moments of an event, especially of one so cute!
