I met up with Laura and her five sons at the Huskey house the Friday before Easter to document the moments of their day at home. Between homeschooling and baking, it’s a day full of multitasking.
When Laura isn’t baking goodies for Teleo Coffee, you can most often find her at her own house, creating her own delicious bakes for Wildflower and Barley. When I arrived, Laura had loaves of beautiful sourdough cooling while others baked. She began making dough for cinnamon rolls and danish pull apart breads, all made with sourdough.
Despite the busyness in the kitchen, Laura made sure to give the boys assignments throughout the day. When one finished, she quickly tasked them with another activity, making sure to keep an eye on the next task in her baking preparation as well. Once the boys were complete with their schooling activities, it was time for fun which included outside play, climbing trees, investigating a lost tooth and showing off a whirly bird collection.
Being a fellow homeschool mompreneuer, I have so much respect for Laura and what she’s doing. Not only is she teaching and training her sons in school, life and faith, but she’s using her love to bake to bring a nourishing and delicious source of food to her clients. I was thrilled to get to know the family better and capture these authentic moments for them. The Huskey house might at times be crazy, but it’s full of fun, laughter and life too!
