Tower Grove Park is one of several popular St. Louis parks. Adjacent to Missouri Botanical Gardens, it boasts towering trees, beautiful gardens, ponds and beautiful “ancient ruins.” (I was fascinated to learn these “ancient ruins” were ruins of the Lindell Hotel. The hotel burned to the ground in 1867, before Henry Shaw deeded the land to the city. He took the ruins and arranged them in three clusters, making a dramatic backdrop that is used to this day.)
I met Don, Kati and their kids to capture some updated moments. Their youngest had grown so much that they wanted to document her newest milestone, walking! We met at the ponds and ruins where it seemed many others planned to enjoy as well. We navigated around the area, careful to not disturb the park’s biggest enthusiasts, the geese! After we captured moments in this popular location, we ventured north which boasted beautiful wildflowers and bridge.
I absolutely love capturing families because each session captures a different phase of life. Now that the youngest is walking, it’s the season of running after her as she makes discoveries of her own. I can’t return to Tower Grove again to capture more memories for others as well.
