What’s Saving My Life – Summer 2025 | St. Louis Documentary Photographer

Summer brings a different type of feeling to life. Days are longer, nostalgia runs wild with fond summer memories and I try to squeeze out special moments with family and friends. There are some things that are saving my life this season that I want to share.

Family Fridays

During the summer, my husband’s work shifts schedules to 10-hour days allowing employees to have Fridays off. Though the mornings throughout the week can be rough as I try to see him off most mornings, the fact Friday is around the corner is refreshing! Some Fridays we work around the house, others we go out and explore. Last week I made a conscious effort to have my work complete which gave us a whole day to play.

Day Camps

As a homeschool momma, my summer doesn’t change our daily routine much. My kids are usually with me but on select weeks in the summer they spend their time going to Spark Camp and VBS. These events are always anticipated by both kids and myself and allows me time to go work so the afternoon is free for play.

The Pool

My parents have invested in a pool and we try to take advantage of it as much as we can. Typically we go to their house at least once a week and sometimes even more to cool off from the summer heat.

Bubbly Melted Ice Pop

I’m not a soda drinker but I love sparkling waters. Bubbly put out this melted ice pop that brings the flavors of a bomb pop into a refreshing beverage I don’t feel guilty drinking.

Evening Sessions

Summer heat is no fun but summer evenings bring magic to a session. It’s a beautiful time of day when lighting is softer and it’s a little cooler so everyone’s not melting trying to smile.

Well here you go, a brief look at some of the things saving my life this summer. What’s one thing saving your life? Share in the comments!
