“Keep smiling, because life is a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.”
Marilyn Monroe
Maddie Woodward, senior at Northwest High School, knows what it’s like to have a busy schedule. Editor-in-Chief of the year book, member of the Lionettes and having a lead role in the recent production of Mama Mia are just a few of her recent achievements.
As I met her and her parents at Missouri Botanical Gardens, I was instantly drawn to her charisma and personableness. As a member of the dancing team, she didn’t shy away from the camera and we were able to get to numerous areas during her session. Maddie shared of her recent travels abroad to visit her older sister and talked about her upcoming plans to attend Missouri Baptist University. Maddie plans to study English and hopes to be a teacher one day.
One of my favorite locations was in front of the Stephen and Peter Sachs Museum in the Victorian District. Blooming dogwoods, tulips and other flowers graced the area while the building provided a structural background.
I had such a great time with Maddie and her parents during our time together at MOBot. It was fun walking around the variety of gardens and capturing images for Maddie! Knowing the family for many years, it gave me a chance to catch up with them. I’m excited for her as she graduations this month and I doubt her smile will diminish after she’s no longer a senior!
