Edna Ferber once said, “Christmas isn’t a season. It’s a feeling,” and I couldn’t agree more as I met with some wonderful families before and after Thanksgiving to capture some Christmas moments.
The Lee Family
Austin and Danielle’s schedules lined up perfectly with mine to meet at the studio the week before Thanksgiving to get their Christmas photos taken. It was great seeing them again and stand amazed at how big their oldest has gotten since I last captured moments of them in November 2020. I was delighted to meet their younger son and while warned he is very serious was able to capture some adorable smiles as he gets closer to his first birthday.
Santa Comes to the Studio
When your dad can pull off Santa, you kindly ask him to grow out his beard and get ready to hold some babies. This year’s Santa Experiences was smaller due to clients being sick, but that didn’t dampen the mood Santa brought with him. He was excited to get another year of Santa photos with his grandson, although I’m not so sure his grandson was thrilled his grandpa was decked out in red.
The Bryan Family
It’s always a great time to see Melissa and her lovely girls! Now that her oldest is a teenager, I wasn’t sure if she would enjoy herself during our time together but I was informed it wasn’t that bad! I love capturing moments of this lovely family and was excited to have them again at the studio for some Christmas themed photos.
The Gwinnell Family
I met Nikki through taking school photos for Classical Conversations and she initially booked a fall session. When it was cancelled due to family emergency, I was thrilled I could accommodate her darling family inside the studio. It was nice meeting her husband, John-Michael, as well as the younger kids who weren’t apart of school photos. Nikki knocked it out on coordinating the outfits and they fit flawlessly into the neutral setup as well as the Christmas setup.
I purposefully schedule my Christmas sessions early enough to allow clients the opportunity to use their images on their family cards or buy special gifts. While this year’s sessions weren’t as busy as last year’s, I was delighted at the moments captured in the beautiful studio. Laura Formisano said, “Christmas magic is silent. You don’t hear it – you feel it. You know it. You believe it.” I loved ushering in this Christmas season with some magic in the studio this year.
